1270 Liguria/Tuscany - Interested in an Expat-Meeting?

Hello everybody,

my name is Melanie, I am German, aged 36 and living in the "border" Liguria/Tuscany with my Italien husband.
I was wondering if there might be any expats (english, german etc. etc) who could be interested in meeting somewhere for a dinner, just in order to chat (in whatever language) have fun and meet new people?
If so, just let me know and I might organise for such a meeting!

Hi Melanie,

Welcome to the forum. Very nice idea, but I think you will find that most folks here seem to be located in Le Marche, Umbria or Abbruzzo - so it might require some travelling. :) (Guys, correct me if I'm wrong! :D )

I've been reading about Northern Tuscany quite a bit recently and there is a thread on this forum about the Lunigiana region. Have a good nosy around the forum and feel free to comment. This will give you an idea where people are - and also you kind of get to 'know' them...

We will be moving to Lunigiana (Tuscany right on the border of Liguria) in July 2006. We'd be delighted to hook up when we get settled. Where exactly are you living?

My husband was born in Germany and we are both struggling to learn Italian so we could have interesting conversations in a variety of languages!

Hi Melanie,

We also live on the Liguria / Tuscany border, in the hills above Santo Stefano Magra. We can probably see you from up here. I am Dutch (aber in Deutschland aufgewachsen) and my wife is from Northern Ireland. We moved here 2 1/2 years ago. We are always interested in meeting new people and we're obviously close by. Keep us posted.
