Does anyone know of anywhere we can stay in Italy and help out on a farm or agricultural area? We plan to move in a couple of years to Italy and want to get a taste for working outside and seeing what the day to day running of livestock etc involves. Also does anyone know where I can find an Ape for hire?! I'm dying to drive one next time we visit.

If anyone wants to get in touch my address is tessamyers1@aol.com

Tessa,
If you are interested in wine production you could go to Piemonte.
I come from Lu monferrato and people there live of agriculture.

The only thing is I do not think that you could make good money out of it....
