There is a driving school in Amandola, owned by a friend of mine. It is opposite the petrol station just as you turn into the Fermo road.

I learnt to drive and passed my test here in le Marche having failed 4 tests in UK !!
There are several schools; one in Sarnarno, 1 in Passo San Ginesio
Obviously one has to pass the theory test prior to lessons usually 3 evenings a week for 1 hr, that's the toughest part; the actually driving test is a doddle !!
if you require any other info; let me know.

I am under the impression that you are able to do the 'theory' part of the driving test in English if you want to. Check out this possibility if it would help.

I don't think that this is possible (to take theory in English)
when I took mine in 2005 it was either do a written in italian test or oral in Italian. I took the latter.

We have met a lovely young girl from Cuba who comes to our Italian lessons and she is currently going through the theory part of the test. She assured me the test materials were available in lots of different languages including English and Spanish.
Does anyone know if there are any driving schools in or near the town of Amandola and do the people use them?
Rosa.
In previous posts you have mentioned your links with Amandola, the Restaurant at Lago San Ruffino, the Baker in Amandola, etc. Surely these relatives could have given you the information that you are asking, much easier and faster than we could on the forum.

as has already been said there are plenty of driving schools in the area.
yes,they are used by people.
not only for learning to drive but for renewing driving licences, medical examinations for the same are usually also conducted there, you can pay your property tax on your car, even renew your passport and lots of other things to do with cars /driving.etc
many of these things can be done at little or no cost in public offices, but if you know public offices, you might well prefer for a modest charge to get things done at the local driving school..i usually do.
Thanks

 I was a little confused as to why I couldn't ask other forum users this question. You know i was born in Australia, and grew up speaking only english. As I got older I taught myself to speak italian with the help of family, however sometimes when speaking to relatives it is hard to get across what you want to ask them in italian, especially when I'm nervous. I thought that the forum was there to ask questions and if your able to help answer them too. I am grateful to the other forum users for their help on Driving Schools. The reason I asked was because we run a Driving School here and my dream is to one day be able to live in Amandola, maybe 6mths here and 6mths over there. So I just wanted to know if I could make a go of my profession in that town. I hope I can still ask further questions on the forum because I really love this website.
thanks rosa

Sad post this one in some ways, I think it is totally reasonable to ask about a business proposal such as a driving school......................BUT say what you mean!!
If you do this, posters will be able to respond appropriately............however, I think quite a few of the responses to date have been relating to RESEARCHING...............I for one thought you were thinking of having driving lessons!
Hopefully we can all continue to contribute positively for the good of all the others ????

I now understand that I need to explain better what I'm actually asking information about. I know that other posters can go to alot of trouble to give you the information your looking for and unless your really in need of that information one should think before they post. To date I am very grateful for any helpful information that has been given to me and I hope that maybe one day I too can give posters some helpful information. I look forward to reading in the forum.

I apologise Rosa if you thought that my reply was not in context to your question, but as you had not explained the real reasons behind the post, then it does become open ended and that was why I replied as I had with reference to your previous posts. Obviously, if you do go ahead with the project, then I wish you the best of luck and hope that your teaching skills are a lot higher than many here.

I Totally agree with Geotherm on this.............and greatly appreciate that there has been a misunderstanding................hopefully you will continue to share your :yes:views and knowledge with us all!
No useful info to offer I'm afraid, other than try the local yellow pages.
Got me wondering though as to what exactly it is that is taught in Italian driving schools????
