Well they just picked it up ok as promised before midday so fingers x'd it'll be reunited with me next Tue or Wed. Cor I wouldn't fancy being a courier delivery driver in Italy trying to find country homes to deliver to.
Will let you know if it worked out on my return..

Funny you should say that! We even have printed instructions for delivery men, couriers etc, for our fairly easy to find house though it is snc(without postcode). Yesterday after at least two phone calls asking for directions, still had to go out to meet courier as could not find us!!!!!!!

What I found worked for delivery people [and friends] trying to find our house [little village - back of beyond] was to give them a printout of some maps, plus photos of various critical parts of the route [with arrows added showing which way to go] - then you don't need to worry about how good your Italian is.
You can do it all on a simple Word/Draw programme on your pc
I got the idea from a hotel website I once viewed.
It has worked for deliveries, repair men and friends - without fail
I now have a few copies left at the house, and we usually carry them with us in case 'the boss' decides to buy something big
Well - they did deliver..

Well I'm just back from a wonderful week in Le Marche. Weather was fantastic much to my surprise - a few showers and thunderstorms but only to add a bit of drama to the lovely sunshine. Parcel did arrive as promised. Unfortunately seemed to have been droppped from a huge height at some stage of the journey. All the glass broken despite being bubble wrapped. Sigh. As it was signed for by someone as ok I fear I have little comeback. Still I can get the glass replaced - at least the frames are there.
So I would recommend them for delivering non fragile objects only...

Let us know how it goes - could be useful to lots of us
