A bit far but I would recommend ACAYA, in the Lecce province.

Does anybody know of a golf course close to the Gargano region of Puglia??

There used to be a nine hole course at the abandonded US base at San Vito. My wife learned to play there in the 80's. Watch out for snakes. It's free relief.

There used to be a 9 holes when the NATO was up and running, but now, for what I can see, the 9 hole course was just in front of the main road by the iron fence, when kids we used to ride there and watch the "crazy americani" play the game with the stick and the ball, it does not look like anybody played for a long time; the green and fairway are unrecognisable. I do not think they would let you play anyway as it is a UN post now, but then again one never knows.
