A restaurant which has remained in my mind for years but i'm afraid i cant be absolutely sure they do seafood but its possible/probable it's called DEL CAMBIO' just in front of the building called the sub alpine parliament.
The style appears to have remained unaltered from the time when Torino was capital and the Savioa dynasty reigned there.
great wines,service immaculate,furnishings 1860,
i ate meat.
i hope presumed progress has not destroyed this eating temple...
take a look at MICHELIN ITALY guide or GAMBERO ROSSO also good.just looked at another guide looks like nothing has changed -good write up.
they also have wide variety delicately prepared vegetables they indicate price at between Euro 60-70,00 x person but suely worth it for gastronomical/cultural experience

Il ristorante del cambio is the most amazing restaurant in Torino... but I wouldn't go there for seafood... actually torino is not the best place for seafood at all... it is not on the sea...
In piemonte we eat meat and vegetables... so if you go to the Cambio have the gianchetti they are small fish fried in a light batter. But you have to eat the finanziera it is a dish made with all the parts of the animals that are really cheap... Cavour used to eat it, it has been cooked in the same way for 200 years.

It depends as well on when will you be going... now it is definetively too warm for all of that...fritto misto e bollito... better in the autumn.

If you really want fish there is a restaurant owened by people from Sardinia in San Salvario, in via Belfiore... very reasonable prices, execellent food and lovely pizza too. You will find that for some weird reason seafood is often very nice in pizzerias...

Hope you'll enjoy it!

Thank you for those fulsome replies.

Last October, I read a glowing report in 'The Guardian' about Ristorante Del Cambio. According to that report, they have been serving meals since 1757!!
The recommendation was the 'menu di tradizione' at €66 a head which includes the Tajarin as well as the renowned Chicken Marengo, the dish invented for Napoleon after an early triumph over the Austrians in the hills to the north.

That said, I'll probably end up eating a meat dish to partner a Barbaresco or a Barolo. I'm salivating just thinking about it.

I'll take your advice and give it a go when I come over in September/October to see a Juventus match. Still waiting for the fixtures to be published before booking a flight.

Thanks again.
