About a half dozen of my family will be in Abruzzo for about 3 days next spring, and want to visit the towns where our ancestors came from. Our current plan is to stay in a larger city, e.g. Pescara or Chieti, and rent a car (or perhaps two, depending on the dinal size of our group). Only a couple of us speak any Italian. Is it possible to engage someone local to accompany us to the smaller towns to serve as a navigator, interpreter? Would our hotel or the care rental agency make such an arrangement for us? Any thoughs or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
