1211 Italian Cities at Christmas

Hope you can help - we were thinking of visiting Bologna or Rome between Xmas and New Year but wondered if Italian cities closed over the festive period?

thanks

Can't speak for Bologna or Rome but Naples is transformed over Christmas. The market stalls and little shops selling nativity scenes with associated (and very Italian!) characters are priceless. Also, the range of traditional festive treats that goes on sale at that time of year is wonderful to see and eat.

I would assume, as Naples operated as usual over that time of year, that bigger cities will too.

:) Naples at Christmas is really fantastic but not only naples also the small sea villages of the amalfi coast are a true nativity representation.
I live there near and I assure you it is a wonderful view.
