Hello all, as you may have noticed there is a different text editor for inserting content. Still a couple of things to work out but it should allow us to upload images in both posts and replies to posts as well as have more smileys, etc.

Pat, who had been taking care of the Latest news section for the past six weeks will be writing a weekly column offering a more personal take on life here in Italy.
Hi,sure this will not please everyone but the feedback we got is that having latest activity on the forefront is the most logical thing because with topics you don't get a proper view of everything.Topics are just a click away (as well as everyth
We have a winner for our seven wonders competition
There were hundred of votes and some very interesting submissions but the Lady won once more
Hello All,
we are running a competition to discover the seven Italian wonders
straight off the Repubblica website - a revolution in fast-food. Pasta that is cooked with the same speed as coffee from a special machine invented by Barilla.
We've added a couple of changes to the site today that will hopefully make it simpler to follow new posts and post content under the appropriate topic:
One of the things I enjoy about the area I live in (South-East Sicily) are the little ape (three-wheeled) or slightly bigger blue trucks that travel around and park in seemingly random positions (although I am sure there is a well defined hierarch
... coming up with a question was hard. How can you come up with anything that Google does immediately cough up!
anyway - here goes.
Hello - one more change for today. We've added an editor so it is simpler to do things like bold text or italics

I've added paging by default (a new page every 30 comments) and also you can personalise it any way you prefer.however - could I suggest that you start a new post for every question?it is enough you tag them with "abruzzo quiz" and we will be able to collect them under a category automatically. also it will be easier to understand what is the question we are dealing with without having to go through lots of pages, etc -
hopefully the new links at the top will ensure that you never loose something you created or a post you participated in. New activity gives you all the posts that you haven't read yet, my activity gives you all the posts you have participated in and my posts gives you just the content you created.
no great consipary - your pointer passes over "Italian Property" and as a result you see the property sub-menu...I've changed the settings to reduce the sensitivity so you have to hover a bit more over property before you see that submenu - hopefully this will improve things for you.
we should start a movement to get Italy to participate once more - San Remo just doesn't offer the same entertainment value...Who remembers Toto Cutugno and "insieme... unite unite europe" (sorry I know I am not a member of the Red Lion )
Hi elicat - thanks for joining and the great intro. Looks like you have a lot to offer - we have a small girl which is growing up bilingual (and tri-cultural almost!) but one of the challenges we are finding is to create more opportunities for her to speak English with others (as there are few English expats in South Sicily and even fewer with kids!)if you have any questions about the site and how to use it please askronald
just realised that this pizzeria is called "Rebel Angels" - that is original :)
I searched Google for "pecore, abruzzo, inverno" and the only stories that came up are about sheep being eaten up by bears or wolves...http://newscontrol.repubblica.it/item/509310/orso-sbrana-tre-pecore-in-a...Then I though ok let us just ask Google straight "Dove vano le pecore di Abruzzo in inverno" and I get the answer "nei pagliai" - which obviously raises the question: "What ARE pagliai then...."So back to Google with "pagliai, pecore" which gives nothing much. Then we try Google Images and I get thishttp://www.leditoriale.com/uploads/news/1226434876-1698-pagliare-tione_b...and thishttp://www.leditoriale.com/index.php?page=news&news=149and that is my answer. H) :)
that last dish looks seriously interesting - thanks for sharing
thanks - get ready to test restaurant reviews in about 5 min!
1. In the piazza you see posts that are relevant to you - so if you are a member of the Marche group you will see Marche group postings in the piazza etc.2. This post was created under the Help Group AND the Marche Group (cross-posting) and that is why Gala (who is not a marchese) can see it
