I thought I would start a new thread on this for easy access.
Anyone have any idea on pricing for an external chimney from a pellet stove to reach above the roof line on the 2nd floor of a house. I am posting on behalf of a friend who is not well enough to do her own research, so forgive me for being vague.
I have a very good friend who is being harassed by a previous partner by phone.I remember in the UK that British Telecom had steps they could take to prevent nuisance calls of this nature.
Following on from another thead, what will happen to the ever increasingly aged farming communities, now that their children no longer want to work on the land?
So now being in possession of our permanent residency, apart from health care issues (and the rather nice baseball hat from the Sindico) what other advantages can we expect ?.
An Aesops fables moment (OK I know that was grapes....) I went down to check on our large cherry tree, bent over with the weight of cherries this year and surprised two large adult foxes doing the same thing.

Thanks everyone, I have lots of info I can now pass on to her, especially websites, the other stuff I know after 3 years here, its interesting that prices seem cheaper than here, and some very pretty properties at reasonable prices on the websites, but not knowing the area local knowledge is always best.A
Thanks for such a long and thoughtful post John, I am now going to have to read it again, but it certainly gives everyone much food for thought and perhaps a focus for our activities as well.Angie
Sure Moxie need to have positive ideas, as I have always said, not always possible to predict where your thread goes though.!.But would welcome the newbies coming up with some ideas that we or they could use,A
David , calma, we do what we can, because we feel a commintment to Italy our adopted country, which has been good to us so we give back what we can. Thats what we do.But you cannot force people to take part if they dont want to, they may have their reasons, we just get on with this in our way. Perhaps people have donated through just giving and feel this is enough?. Or perhaps some people live in a vacuum and only ever help their immediate family?. Who knows?. But we just need to concentrate on what we do, and do well.A
Hi Claudia, welcome to the community, I use a mixture of soil (mostly clay) and compost, either bought, or from our own compost heap.Seems to work well, but needs waterering once or twice a day. Nip out the tops of your basil plants before they start to flower and they should last longer, but I have various pots of it all at different stages just to keep us going. I just buy the little plugs in the market and keep potting them up.I do the same thing with flat leaved parsley.A
Aperitivi and team meeting!!! for BBQ just for 10mins ...honest.A

Interesting, we have 80 olive trees and would never use anything chemical on them, neither would our neigbours, so why do you feel the need to do so?, some of our trees are very old and still producing, we have very good olive oil and the use of chemicals to produce this seems that it is no longer organic.? But interested in your reply.A
