Is the TARI still the same figure this year (2019). I have moved house in UK and think they may have sent the request to the old address. We live in Bagni di Lucca.

Does anyone know of an English speaking plumber in or around Bagni di Lucca?
Is it true there are massive penalties for moving your bank account to another provider
Went to our bank in Lucca today (Cassa di Risparmio di Pistoia e Della Lucchesia) to pay in some cash for our direct debits for water and electricity.
We purchased our house just outside Bagni di Lucca some 12 years ago. We have been rigorous about paying our taxes and any alterations have gained the required permissions before undertaking them.
We have a leak in our roof. We want to repair this as soon as possible obviously but we have decided to insulate at the same time. Do we need permission to do this from the Commune? The roof tiles will remain the same.
We are just about to replace our central heating boiler (oil fired) as currently the old one does not comply with current regulations including the fact the the door to the room where the boiler is located should have a vent in it.
Does anyone know if it is possible to fill UK LPG (Calor) gas bottles without difficulty in Italy. Do I need a connector to get it filled? My regulator is a UK one and is fine.
As we are currently only able to visit our house around four times a year we have instigated direct debit for our electricity (which is obviously minimal).

We had all of that and more - there was only one person to take cash and he had a strop and left.
We were not paying any bills only adding funds to the account.
Thank you. The lady who deals with cash was off sick and the stand in threw a strop and left the building. There was no one in the bank who could do it so we were left high and dry. The big issue was that we didn't have the pin for our bank card with us and the bank statement, copy of electricity bill and passport were not enough to allow us to pay into our account - which we have had for 15 years!
Thanx Gala. We have an appointment with the Commune at Bagni on Wednesday to discuss. May have to sell house to pay this bill which will be sad. The Estate Agent who sold us the house 12 years ago set up our Codice Fiscale, and then ICI plus bank accounts and ENEL and Gaia. Nothing was ever mentioned about this tax at the time. The only way we found out about it was because of the huge increase last year which annoyed all the village and was the main topic of conversation. Know this won't help our case but we do not feel entirely responsible for this failing.
Thanx LL. we have an appointment with Commune in two weeks. Hope to sort it then. Not sure we can afford to pay 12 years worth.
Loved it. We soak up anything about Italy............Montalbano, Property shows and this is a wonderful hour of viewing our favourite country through another's eyes. We only have the opportunity to visit Italy 3 to 4 times a year due to elderly and ailing parent but fully intend to spend more time when we can and this helps ease the pain of separation!!
I do agree with you about complying. Its easier for the locals to get away with it. We Brits on the other hand need to do it the right way just in case.
Thanks Gala We have chosen to take the formal route and advise the Commune. We may need to erect scaffolding and safety/insurance certificates will need to be produced by the contractor - just in case. Thanks for the advice though.
The boiler is oil fired. Are you serious? 120cms is four feet!!! This ventilation is needed in a door leading from our cantina where the boiler is situated to the outside. The door is normal size which is approx. 90cms. We were thinking the grille should be around 20mm x 20mm max. We are happy with our current type of fuel for heating but the current boiler is very old and not certificated.
We have not had any trouble getting our own Italian gas bottle re-filled locally - we just wanted to have a bigger one. The Italian bottles are too big to fit inside our Thurcroft Verine portable gas fire.
