We have a house near to Orvieto which we use for about half the year. Our Italian is limited but that hasn't stopped our Italian community being very welcoming.
We have finally got round to adding a posting (think it's relevant here) Five years ago we bought a house in Alviano (near to Orvieto) and have been spending 4 or 5 months in it each year.
Sounds good to me. We are back in the Dales next week, for a week. Then back here. Perhaps I can call you? Whereabouts are you in Yorks? I will send my details too. Jan
Don't know whereabouts you are but Ikea sell all that stuff and is reasonably priced ---but we are near Lazio border and route to Rome so it's easier for us to access
You are right. Very nice photos and thanks for the advice. Had realised there were many Americans and Brits but another question finding them. Draw the line at approaching people in the street! But thanks answerin. Jan

We have some lovely Italian neighbours but are finding it difficult to meet people. We speak enough Italian to get by but would really like to meet up with people who are having similar settlling in experiences. We know there are lots of English speaking people in Orvieto, but how do we meet them/you? Best wishes Jan
