My friend is coming out to Stay in August but wants to spend three nights by the sea first. Could someone recommend a hotel and resort. She will be flying in to Genoa and once in Italy will be travelling by train.
We are going to be spending New Year's Eve in Lunigiana this year and was wondering what restaurants near Comano was celebrating,It does not have to be a big party but would like something festive /full restaurant. Any ideas please?
We are thinking of converting the cantinas and part of the quote was for two exterior double glazed PVC type windows and two internal doors. The cost came to €2000 for the windows and €1500 for the two doors and €6000 for a wooden staircase. Can anybody recommend a good builder that is not going to charge the earth and think because we are English ( Welsh Actually) that we are made of money. We have a house in the Lunigiana area of Tuscany!
We have a house in the Lunigiana area and have/had the same problem. One room was worse than the rest- we had water all along the floor enough to be able to dip my fingers in. We had a local builder in who hacked all the plaster and cement off in that room. He either coated the wall or mixed something in the new cement as it went on and when we were out November just gone the floor and walls were bone dry. Unfortunately we still had condensation running down the windows. If it helps I can let you know the name of the builder. Let's hope there won't be too much rain in the next few months!!!
We also bought a house in Comano five years ago and have not looked back. People are wonderful, friendly and can't do enough for you. If you need any help with estate agents I am willing to advise.
We had a similar situation when we rented a car in Pisa Airport. We found the car to be damaged and when I picked it up ,went back to the office and I was shown the damage to be on the paper work that I was given- ( Normally this is pointed out before you leave the office) Went away happy but found £500 taken off my credit card 3 months later!!! Followed up by letters and copies of the paper work but they insisted that the paper work was not proof that I had not done it.So far I have not paid it as my credit card have taken the matter up!!!Now I prefer to pay that little extra for a repitable firm. Anybody interested in knowing the company can E-mail me.
Dan we bought from Lunigiana 2000 about four years ago and can't praise them enough.I dealt with Paola as she was the only English speaking. They still support me for anything I require to this day. Congratulations with your purchase and I don't think you have anything to worry.
Welcome back, very sorry to hear of your loss. I hope this site helps you find lots of friends and contacts. We are in Lunigiana but not there permanently.
