Two nights ago a gecko appeared in my lounge. It stayed high up on the wall and I couldn't reach it even if I were brave enough to handle it. Yes, I know they are quite sweet, eat mosquitoes, etc and it only scares me when it moves!
Hope you are all having a great ferragosto. What's everybody doing? I'm having a quiet day at home with my dog.
I live in a city centre, second floor apartment so I don't get much bother from creepy-crawlies, which is just as well, as I'm a city lady who is terrified of them.
I thought it would be fun to find out what everyone is reading at the moment. I'm reading "Julie and Julia" in English and a bio of Rita Levi Montalcini in Italian.

I'm a firm believer in vitamin B, myself. I take it all year round and get very little bother. The Italians swear by it. Also, I'm convinced mosquitoes go for pale skin!
I think you're right. I feel safer in Sicily than I did in the UK and have no fears about walking alone at night here. Pat
I haven't used them with pork but I have used them in a pasta sauce, which will keep. It's in Alastair Little's Italian Kitchen: Basically, you make an onion anddried funghi porcini sauce, then grate some truffle into it. Put in a preserving jar and cover with truffle oil [which you could also make]. Pat

I had this problem with conscoop when I first came. I can only suggest you cancel whatever was set up and do it all again from the beginning - a hassle, I know. Or change your bank - another hassle. At least you can pay enel bills via Lottomatica, at the tobacconist's, so if you don't have a dd, you don't have to wait in the post office. Sorry I can't be of more help. Pat

Yes, I think Penny is right about teenagers being more sophiosticated in London. I can't speak for your area, but usually the beach is a culture in itself and it is quite normal for teenagers to stay out till the early hopurs dancing down thre.
