Eight Picturesque Villages to Visit in Campania

The so-called ‘fiordo’ (fiord) of Furore is the most spectacular sight of this village on the Amalfi Coast.

Albori, near Vietri sul Mare on the Amalfi Coast, has picturesque alleys and an enchanting panoramic position nestled between the cliff and sea.

On the Cilento coast, within the National Park of Cilento, Castellabate has several historic monuments, having been inhabited since prehistoric times.

Nusco is known as ‘Irpinia’s balcony’ because of the magnificent view it affords over a vast area of Irpinia thanks to its panoramic position on a mountain.

Located on top of a tuff hill, Zungoli has cobblestone streets that feature stone staircases climbing up the hillside.

The site of the ancient city of Caudium, Montesarchio is located in a panoramic position in the Valle Caudina at the foot of Monte Taburno.

Only 780 people call the ancient village of Monteverde home. In an unspoiled area of Campania, with its sandstone houses, it has survived several earthquakes.

Atrani is so picture-perfect, with its charming alleys, gardens, squares, buildings, “scalinatelle” and overall atmosphere that it is often used as a set for commercials.
