Etna Eruption Seen from International Space Station

The extraordinary images below were taken from the International Space Station by NASA astronauts Alexander Gerst and Reid Wiseman of “Expedition 40”. At 200 miles above the earth, they captured the latest lava flow from the north-eastern crater on Sicily’s Mount Etna, happening these days.

The last picture in the slideshow was taken by the ITALY Magazine team, who, on Tuesday, went up to the volcano and could witness first-hand  the amazing show.
