Description

Hi! My name is Renata and I’m a native Italian teacher with a deep passion for languages, culture, and -of course- for Italy.
I live in Milan, a city I truly love, and for several years I’ve been dedicated to teaching Italian to foreigners, both online and in person.

I graduated in Modern Foreign Languages and Literature from the University of Milan and earned the DITALS certification from the University for Foreigners of Siena, which allowed me to specialize in teaching Italian as a foreign language. In the past, I also taught French, but today I focus entirely on Italian, pouring all my energy and creativity into this beautiful work.

I love cinema, literature, art, travel, and good food, and I adore sharing all of this with my students.

MY TEACHING METHOD: LIVING THE ITALIAN LANGUAGE
My teaching method is practical and natural: I believe learning a language means truly connecting with the daily life of those who speak it. That's why I always combine grammar with real conversation, listening, and cultural discovery: exploring Italian art, cuisine, and traditions.

I guide my students through the hidden corners of Milan, discovering its art, food, and culture, turning each lesson into a real-life immersion in the language. You’ll live the Italian language while strolling through the city's parks, visiting historic house-museums, attending concerts, or—if you're a music lover—watching rehearsals at Teatro alla Scala.

I can also organize Italian cooking classes, relaxing yoga moments, and artistic or cultural paths.
Plus, I offer day trips to other cities and stunning Italian locations such as Genoa, Pavia, Bergamo, Brescia, Bologna, Lake Como, and Lake Maggiore.

IN-PERSON CLASSES
Are you visiting Milan and want to treat yourself to a day of exploration while practicing your Italian?
Or are you already staying here for a short or long period and want to dedicate a few hours a day to studying the language while discovering the city with me?

I offer daily in-person lessons that combine study with city walks and cultural visits to practice Italian in real-life contexts. I can also recommend accommodation that suits your needs.

FULL IMMERSION: HOMESTAY
Would you like to experience daily life with an Italian family? You can live with me and my family in the heart of Milan and join our routines—cooking together, shopping, or walking through the city—while speaking Italian naturally.

It’s an authentic and enriching experience that allows you to learn in a fun, spontaneous, and deep way.

ONLINE LESSONS
This is a great option to prepare for your in-person experience or to continue learning afterwards and keep up the progress you’ve made.

Or if you simply can’t travel or prefer virtual learning, we can begin your Italian journey online, wherever you are in the world!

WHAT MY STUDENTS SAY
Kathleen, Louisiana (USA)
Hi Renata, thank you so much for my week with you and your family. I learned a lot and I feel like I can speak Italian a little more easily now. You were a wonderful guide in Milan and Bergamo. I saw things I would have never seen as a tourist. Thank you for your kindness, patience, and warmth. Kathleen

Anne, Cambridge (UK)
Dear Renata, I will never be able to thank you enough for last week. You were not only an excellent teacher and guide, but also a kind and attentive friend. I am so grateful. I hope you got some rest yesterday, with the satisfaction of a job very well done. Thank you again, big hug – Anne

Joanne, Calgary (Canada)
We had such a great time staying with Renata and her family. They were incredibly kind and thoughtful. Renata is an excellent Italian teacher, and her kids are fun and engaging. After lessons, we explored Milan and Lake Como, visiting famous spots and hidden gems. We went to the cinema, cooked together, shared amazing meals, exchanged recipes, and laughed a lot. A highlight for us was the garden party at their home near Lake Como, with their lovely friends we already felt we knew. Thank you Renata and family for creating these beautiful memories!

Doris, Switzerland
Renata is not just a teacher to me—she has become almost like a friend. We always start our lessons with a little chat. When I miss a word, she helps me express myself clearly. She’s very attentive, present, and cheerful.
Our lessons are usually online, and one of the things I value most is how she explains why certain rules or expressions are used in Italian.
We often meet in Milan too, where she gives me the chance to practice in real-life situations. She knows the city so well and makes every walk interesting and fun. I’m so happy to have her as a teacher!

IN CONCLUSION
Italy is a country full of history, beauty, and culture. If you want to discover it all while learning—or improving—your Italian, I’ll be happy to guide you on this exciting path.
I’ll be waiting for you in Milan or online to live your Italian language adventure together!
