New Jersey native Lucia Servadio was on holiday here with a friend when she expressed her desire to get a bird's-eye of the mountains and valleys, the way she had already done in 1997, when she was 'only' 97.
Instructor Jean Claude Cavorsin, who took her up on a paraglider the first time, agreed to make her dream come true and a special two-person rig was put together. Servadio was placed in a forward seat while Cavorsin behind her worked the controls.
On landing, the feisty 105-year-old said she was ready to do it again next year.
