I have such fond memories of my stay at Hotel Quelle in the peaceful Casies Valley of South Tyrol. It was all about enjoying the beautiful outdoors that surround the structure and being pampered in the hotel’s phenomenal facilities, which include 5,000 square meters of wellness and relaxation space. [You can read about my experience here.]
So I was elated when I heard of the hotel’s reopening on June 11, after months of lockdown. And I was even more thrilled when I heard of some great additions to Hotel Quelle’s already impressive offering: first off, the gardens have been transformed into an exclusive outdoor SPA, with new attractions themed around water, including a new illuminated waterfall in the mountain stream that runs through the gardens, new quiet oases for further relaxation and distancing and a new private outdoor massage area. How about a nap in the hammock while breathing in the fresh aroma of the garden’s herbs and flowers, or a barefoot hike across the Kneipp reflexology trail? After all the stress of the past months, we all deserve it.
The newly-inaugurated Wellness garden is part of the 70th Anniversary celebrations (Hotel Quelle has been owned and run by the Steinmair Family since 1950), which will continue into the fall, with special anniversary programs for guests during dedicated weeks in September and October.
As part of Hotel Quelle’s philosophy, an active vacation, immersion into nature and local explorations are encouraged. In line with this philosophy, the resort is adding new Active Weeks, with mountain activities ranging from easy hikes and bike rides to challenging alpine-runs; three new daily guided outdoor nature experiences have been introduced, plus a range of new outdoor workouts including Nature Cross Fit, Energy Walk to Braies Lake (one of South Tyrol’s most beautiful lakes), the Quelle Challenge Workout, Core Fitness and Functional Training.
Hotel Quelle is a ‘Covid Protected Area’; it has implemented a strict new hygiene policy in cooperation with their Medical Spa partner, Brixsana. This includes regular Covid-19 tests for every employee and both Covid-19 and Antibody tests available, upon request, for guests. There is a special task force in place to ensure safety compliance is being met and all employees have been specially trained in the new hygiene measures.
And if you desire even more privacy, try Chalet Salena, the new two-bedroom Luxury Spa Chalets, each with private jacuzzi, bio-sauna and a dreamy view of the Dolomites.
Hotel Quelle is located near the town of Bruneck in the province of Bolzano in the peaceful Casies Valley of South Tyrol, a side valley of the more popular Puster Valley, with famous Dolomites attractions such as the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and Lago di Braies reachable within an hour’s drive. Hotel Quelle itself is located at an altitude of 1400m, and its idyllic position amid the mountains is well suited for those looking for nature, serenity, time for oneself and the small pleasures of life.
The nearest airports are Innsbruck (119km) and Venice (250km), a two- and three-hour’s drive respectively. By train, the nearest station is Welsberg station via Franzensfeste/Fortezza.
Prices start from €1060 per person based on two sharing for 7 nights on a full-board basis.
