Political unity is ''indispensable'' following the devastating earthquake in the Abruzzo region that killed 289 and destroyed towns, Premier Silvio Berlusconi said Friday.
''Faced with an event such as this a climate of political unity is not only necessary but indispensable,'' Berlusconi told journalists.
