Italian Drinks to Keep You Fresh in Summer

The lemon granita from Sicily is a very refreshing and tasty drink, prepared by combining water, lemon juice and sugar, even better when accompanied by a genovese pastry: there you have your Sicilian breakfast!

If you don't feel like gulping a hot espresso, how about caffé freddo, its cold version: espresso, ice cubes and sugar. Shake until a froth forms when poured (leave the ice cubes behind).

Chinotto and Gazzosa are the signature Italian soda drinks! Chinotto is produced from the juice of the fruit of the myrtle-leaved orange tree; it has a bittersweet taste. The very refreshing Gazzosa is made with water, sugar and lemon.

Crodino is a non-alcoholic bitter aperitif produced since 1964, made with herbal extracts and sugar. The American actor Owen Wilson is currently featured in Crodino TV ads in Italy.

Latte e menta (milk and mint): whole milk, ice cubes, peppermint syrup and fresh mint - a refreshing drink to enjoy with the whole family!
