It was a memorable New Year's Eve for many southern Italians as in many areas, even at sea level, it snowed for the first time in recorded history. Weather forecast had predicted this extreme cold waveand prepared people for the worst, but in the festive spirit of 'capodanno' it all acquired a magical atmosphere.
