The latest in a series of initiatives launched by Expo 2015 aimed at helping visitors make the most of their time in Italy is called “100 Gardens of Italy”.
The newly-devised itinerary allows access to 100 gardens, vineyards and orchards that will sponsor events and will have extended opening hours during Expo 2015.
Starting from Milan, seat of the Expo, with the spectacular Italian gardens of Villa Arconati (Bollate), the itinerary includes regions from north to south and even features the Vatican gardens and the pontifical villas of Castel Gandolfo. The 100 gardens are both private and public.
The project is intended to promote green tourism and numerous events will be organized to show the “eco-friendly face" of Italy to Italian and foreign visitors.
Expo 2015 opens in Milan on May 1 and runs for six months on the theme 'Feeding the planet, energy for life'. Kitchen gardens and orchards will be restructured in line with the Expo theme.
