Hi
We/our builders are struggling to find a electrician to do a re wire on our house in Codiponte in Lunigiana (Tuscany).
does anyone have a contact number for one near to us that would be able to do a quote in the next few days. apprently there is one in the village, but no one seems to be able to get hold of him.
our builders are not taking it as prioity it feels, to get one, and we want the house finished by September.
Help!
Tracy and Darren
We just finished a meeting with our contractor and he is sending an electrician to us shortly, hopefully in a few days, to do some finish up work for us. As soon as we have contact, will check out his availability and let you know.
In the meanwhile, good luck. Where exactly are you situated???

This is Italy - and I am beginning to sound like adriatica - but don't create a life destroying stress level by believing September is a realistic finish time!! :)
That may be the general rule, however, we met our contractor in Feb. through another Forum member, a local, who has known him for years and highly recommended him. We shook hands on a remodel plan, he declined any deposit, we arrived Sunday to find everything completed better than anticipated and 15% less than the estimate. He and his cousin, a plumber, take just five days vacation in August. They are young, energetic guys with young families, and eager to work. They will be doing some additional work for us during the next few weeks, including August.
Should anyone in the general Luni area be interested, PM me for contact info. Only drawback is they do not speak English so one needs some proficiency in Italian.

yes - I have one - Galeotti - doesnt speak English - very thorough preventivo - very impressed - not done the work yet - but he was recommended by a local. I shall try and find his number - like most tradesmen - he is not online.

Hi Glen and Kanea
Please would you pm your electricians details to me so that i can forard them to our builder, who has been let down by his contact. Casola is ideal for us as only 10 minutes away.
Thanks

Darren - sorry I can't help with an electrician, but it might be better to get your disappointment over with now, and adjust your mindset...........there is no way that your house will be finished for September.
We are now in late July, Italy is closed for August, and no electrician worth using is going to commit to perhaps having to miss a day at the seaside to oblige you! So noone is going to quote (if the prospective unreachable electrician has been recommended by your builder or geometra he will be marginally miffed by being asked to quote - especially if he is having to do this "competitively".) Preparing a quote (unless your geometra has done an electrical computo metrico) requires forgoing a couple of hours real work, for which he can charge, to prepare a potentially unacceptable estimate for a foreigner.
