12005 Bank Charges?

Hi

Have just checked my online banking and am wondering if anyone can help me with what RIA/RID Consorzio Idrico is? It seems to be costing me a lot of money every year and I have no idea what it is!!

Thanks

Could it be for water rates?

Consorzio = consortium
Idrico = water

RID is the Italian for direct debit, and I agree with anne that consorzio idrico sounds very like a water supply authority. (Strange if it is only an annual bill though, usually the water people send out three or four bills per year).

I only get one meter reading and one water bill every year, so maybe it depends on the Comune.

It is a direct debit. For which you should have signed. If you have kept your paperwork you should find it is the water charge, as long as you are not paying that already!
If you are still worried you can ask the bank for a copy of the document you signed.
Best of luck.

I find the bank charges here exceptionally high. Almost triple our bank charges here! I have queried it but the response is always the same ‘’that’s what it costs’’! Our bank even charges us when we transfer funds from our own account into our own Italian account even though it is the same currency. EU law states that transfers within Europe must be free if IBAN and/or SWIFT numbers are provided. Once again I queried it with our Italian bank and they reduced the charge by 1Euro! I give up!
