8427 ICI tax is late-fine to be paid?

I searched to see if I could find a previous thread on this but nothing showed- my friends have failed to pay their ICI in June, and now are told by the commune that they have to talk to an accountant to calculate the fine incurred. They are happy to pay this, but dont know an accountant to help. They do have access to excellent translators.

Is there a standard fine eg 10% of the ICI due?
Any advice on how to find out -we both own houses in Parma area.
Thanks in hope
Jude
ICI is paid in two installments, one in June and the rest by December 20th.
ICI can also be paid annually, in June, but if you're set up for the June/Dec payments, you'll have to wait until June to change.

Your friend can get help calculating the ICI fine from CISL- it's a labor union but they offer very low cost tax help. Your friend can find the nearest office here:

There is no need to pay anyone to work out the tax due!!! This is the link to calculate it yourselves - http://www.expatsinitaly.com/how/ici.html

Understood. But if for some reason Jude's friend doesn't feel comfortable doing it herself, CISL will do it for 10 euro. Just another option if she needs it.

"Parsimonioso" could be a good Italian alternative.

Having promised ourselves we would take over paying our ICI from our lawyer, we again didn;t manage to to so this month. So in preparation for next June!!

Have found the online calculator, have found the Poste Italiene web pages to payonline should we need to, but have one remaining question - hopefully someone will know the answer.

Our property in our purchase deeds is defined in 3 parts, the main living accomodation, a store area and a barn. Do we pay ICI on all three parts? If so is it at the same rate? If so, then it is easy we just add the figures together and plug them into the online calculator that other members have found. If not the same rate - then what next?

Anyone know? :eeeek:

What categories are they listed as?
It will look something like this: A/2, C/6 etc.

Can anyone advise me on a similar problem?I bought my house in October and have used the online calculator to calculate the ICI due from then until now-that is 3 months. The person who sold to me paid for the half year in December 2006.Does that mean that there are 3 months of arrears from June 2007 until October 2007 when i bought. Can i go to the post office and pay for the three months,in which case will the commune chase my seller or me for the arrears?

Hi.
No, you are liable to pay the ICI from the date you purchased: if it was before 15 October then you have to pay for October (total 3 months); if the rogito date is after 15 October then the previous owner has to pay for October and you pay for November and December.

If the previous seller does not pay his share, the Comune cannot chase you for the arrears as you take on the role of ICI taxpayer only from the date of the deed of purchase.
