I digited "mattatoi equini" (which means slaughter houses equine meat)10 pages of info.Unsuprisingly slaughter houses do not have web sites etc.Have discovered that the consumption is around 250.000 beasts per year mainly horses which come from Eastern Europe and around 10.000 donkeys almost totally from Rumania.Donkey farms in italy do not rear donkeys for consumption generally. If you say more specifically what you want /need may be able to help you.

Thank you Sebastiano for your reply

I am looking for Donkey slaughter houses because i am looking for Donkey Hooves, if i can find some slaughter houses which slaughters donkeys then i can ask to buy the donkey Hooves, since i do not speak Italian it is very difficult for me to search in Italian, i hope this will be a help for you so you will be able to find some slaughter houses for Donkeys for me.

Best Regards

I'm almost afraid to ask, but what do you plan to do with the donkey hooves?

Go clip-clippety-clop............stupid boy!

I'm sooooooo glad that Becky isn't around.

Al

Me tooooooooooooo

Sorry this is probably very serious but couldn't help but laugh! Captain Mainwaring and his clip-clippety clop! :D

Is it for organic glue? :)

Save the donkey's!

You guys are funny
Since the donkeys are already dead,i will buy the hooves and resale them to a company in Japan for pets and not for clip-clippety-clop :D

The plot thickens, how is a donkey's hoof sold as a pet, not very cuddly, wouldn't interact very much? ;)
:D :D :D

Has anyone though this could just be horsing around or possibly azeedo is looking for a transplant donor for his own donkey? After all in sweden with those cold winters maybe the donkey's nail chip and slinter?

:D :D :D

Donkeys hooves as pet food??? Why would they wanna do that??
I can see the appeal of pigs ears or trotters to dogs but donkeys hooves?

Don't they get smelly in transit?

I guess donkeys are a little less endangered than whales... :(

....not a clue why it's important, but excellent as a grammatical test.... donkeys' hooves

Shouldn't knock it really, think how cheap they would be to keep. Also I can feel a business opportunity coming on offering pet insurance soley for hooves, could be a 'buy one, get three free'.
.donkeys' hooves
Is it Cockney slang for news?

The outer sheath of the hoof is removed and dried and makes a nice chewy toy for dogs - keeps the teeth clean.

But why Japan? I suspect they grind them into a powder and use it as a herbal remedy for something...... now what qualities are donkey's known for, apart from being dumb? Where can I order some?:D

Personally, I think it's a toss-up as to which would be the more disgusting thing to have lying around, a dog-slobber-saturated cow ear (also sold as "chew toys") or a gnawed hoof.

Yuck.

Edit: Sorry, but flicking through a US pet supplies website is proving very educational, even though it's definitely putting me off the thought of food. They also sell as chew toys and treats: dried lambs' lungs (brand name: "Baa Baa Qs"), pigs' ears, pig snouts, smoked knuckle bones and "Natural Twin Hoofers" ("Double your pet's pleasure with Twin Hoofers. All the flavor of a single hoof but twice the durability. All hooves contain the natural stuffing that is left in while these rugged chews are processed. This means that once your canine reaches the exterior hoof they have officially moved into the bonus round.").

Yummy.

Just confirms my suspicions that the only domestic pets more disgusting than cats are dogs.

I always thought the hooves were better - they lasted longer, did not go too soft after being slobbered on, and when dirty could be rinsed off under the tap.

But then after eating all this, the damned thing always jumps up you and all but puts it's tongue down you throat, with the owner saying "Oooh he loves you, he does this to me all the time". Then they get upset when you throw-up on the carpet:confused:

What kind of homes do you go to?!?!?

A slight exaggeration for comic effect, one hopes.

People allowing their dogs to "kiss" them by licking their face does make my stomach turn a little. Really, people, do you not notice what that tongue was doing to its owner's nether regions just a couple of moments before you let it lap your your face? ...Or, even more disturbingly, the face of your child?

But maybe I'm just neurotic. I do, afterall, habitually wash my hands after stroking my cats.

...All of which is even more off-topic from donkey death factories, so I suppose I should apologise to azeedo for not being helpful at all.

I can see where you are coming from, and your commentary reminded me of some experiences I have had at other peoples' homes, so was extra amusing. Not relevant to the thread as you point out, but could argue a natural extension of the original subject...

Azeedo, good luck on your new commercial enterprise :) but, if these hooves have such value, won't the slaughtermen be selling them already?

And I am reminded of the following :)

Young Man: (on watching the dog lick its balls) "Wow, I wish I could do that!"

Grandmother: "I'm sure if you give him a biscuit, he'll let you, dear"

True Wishful Thinker, but if there is a product you need a buyer and a seller, sometimes you have a seller but there is no one to buy, in my case i have a buyer which i am already selling them but they want to expand thier business and they are looking for more Donkey Hooves, that is why i am asking if anyone knows where there are slaughter houses in Italy which slaughter Donkeys.

Well, the Chinese can counterfeit just about anything these days...

Any one live in Nuoro Sardinia?

Regards

Azeedo

No, where is that?

Are there many donkees there ? Or just asses :)

It is Sardegna any one in this forum from this area?

Donkey's as well as horses should NOT be slaughtered. Terrible thing that you want to support this industry.

It has been proven that plants feel and respond to pain yet we continue to eat them too...

I'm around!! But this Swedish person is trying to wind us up surely?
I like animals so I dont eat them;makes no difference to me Donkey or Pig so why would people eat pigs but not donkeys?? Crazy.

Simply Becky that donkeys and indeed horses, like cats and dogs are mainly viewed as pets I think.

This thread , is becoming tasteless........unlike donkeys hooves, ummm yummy
ROTFLMAO :laughs::laughs:
