8446 Whats on your menu for Christmas Day ?

Hi All

Breakfast :
Champange, Lambs Kidneys and scrambled eggs.

11.00 Bloody Marys ( Have to buy some sherry )

Lunch :
Turkey, roast potatoes, etc, homemade cranberry sauce, chestnut stuffing,imported swede, celeriac mash.
Pudding and brandy butter. M&S Mince pies
Cheddar cheese.
Plenty of vino.

Supper.
home made chicken liver pate, HM porkpie, pickles, HM Chocolate cake and cream.
Even more vino.

I think thats about it apart from the normal snacks, Twiglets, Cheese Balls, Nuts and fruit.

I hope we all have a Very, Very Happy Christmas .................

Whatever my daughter makes!

Will be heading for Stansted very early Boxing Day so not bothering to do any cooking Chrismas Day.

Buon Natale e Felice Nuovo Anno a tutti!

Breakfast : Bacon, egg, sausages, black pudding, tomatoes.
Followed by - walk on the beach
Followed by - champagne assisted present opening

Late lunch
Roast turkey (breast), sausage meat stuffing, chestnut stuffing, brussel sprouts (home grown), carrots, roast potatoes, gravy
Christmas Pudding with brandy butter

Supper :
mmmh -- probably not much after all that lot and all the nibbles that will be lying around - big tin of quality street (thank you Torchiarolan), home made sausage rolls and mincepies, christmas cake, peanuts, crisps, olives, figs, dates, nuts, clementines etc ......

A food parcel from my Sister, its one of those big tubs, and there all mine, mine I say :madd::madd::madd::madd

Mmm! Okay, we have settled on:
- bruschetta (2 kinds which my husband makes superbly)
- followed by fresh cappelletti in brodo
- followed by agnello arrosto al rosmarino, with all the trimmings
- followed by Gala's lovely fruit macedonia & marscapone
- and caffe'.
The wines go without saying, of course. :bigergrin:
Then probably a wee lie-down in front of the TV!

xmas eve
fish, fish and more fish (curried at the request of our son's italian girlfriend)

xmas breakfast
scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, bucks fizz (can't take too strong a stuff that early)

xmas dinner
lunch at my brother's italian in-laws in Ancona, so don't know what, but there will be a mountain of it, followed by a game of lotto in english and italian!

boxing day
cold meat and home made pickles (my favourite), followed by xmas dvds and a sleep

Campari and soda

Lunch
Spinach and pinenut tart with basil and cheese, Bread Sauce, Roast Potatoes with roast carrots and parsnips, sprouts, leeks and red wine sauce

home-made christmas pudding white sauce

Calvados

Nothing else!!!!until Boxing day!!

Crab & Champagne ( a yearly ritual)
Carols and Lots of Handel played loudly
Visiting the Italian Neighbours..so lots of Vino Cotto
Stumble back and eat some lunch..veggie of course, goats cheese parcels with walnut, basil, and tomato salsa, home grown veg of hill.
Salad,still growing..cheeses, crab apple jellie with ginger.
lemon parfait..with quince jelly.
Etheopian coffee
home made choclates
Plenty of red/white wine
Maybe a armangac (to help with indigestion of course)

Film. or new DVD

Dont have any pressies to open..

Do an old Telegraph crossword, whilst lounging about.

more,more & more of all above.
