3462 Stuffa versus Window

Can anyone advise me on why when I light my stuffa it cracks all the windows in the house I keep going down to the local village with the windows they are double glazed and can be removed from the aliminium frames. Replaced them a dozen times now need to know what kind of glass I need in them to stop them from doing this. Lost another 2 in the living room today they just pop and crack from top to bottom. I know cold and heat = expansion but Its driving me mad. If any one knows can they tell me the Italian for what glass I need maybe there just selling me glass thats too thin?. Scared there gonna fly out and hit me Oh what fun I am having here!
PS I have 2 stuffas one on the first floor one on the second floor and yes It is cold where I am When the house gets warm they even crack on the third floor Help needed please

Without knowing specific details - my first question would be how much ventilaion do you have when the stuffa is running? It is possible that when you are burning away all the air is sucked out of the house but the combustion and not enough air can get into the house to replace what has been used in the process. This would then create a partial vacumn in the house and possibly explain the windows "popping". You might need to either open a window slightly to prevent the problem or find a way of venting the house some other way. In the UK you'd have a vent in the frame or air bricks around the house so that air can get in through the sub floor. Hope this helps - would be very very surprised if it turned out to be a heat/cold issue as the extremes would have to be massive unless you have the stuffa attached to the window itself!

:) Sorry just read posting from daveJ stuffa attached to window couldn't stop laughing like your sense of humour, I am 1000 feet above sea level up in the mountains. You get to Bardi and keep going up till your ears pop. Yeh I know mad to go from LEEDS to this but the divorce thing and marriage thing was a bit much had to get a way from civilization and I think I have done just that.
When we do the house swap thing anyone interested in the Italian outback and 2 great danes pieceful Ideal for walking, painting and writing. The sound of Birds, Horses and a beautiful White church opposite that chimes every hour half hour and plays a chune every day. Market in local village every thursday drive down an you get a shock. I dont see anyone for days then the market arrives and theres about 1,000 people. The buses ship them in from everywhere. Oh and a big castle where they do TOLKON reinactments. Ps Some of the locals in this area speak English but they all have Welsh accents. Apparently during the war they were all sent to welsh concentration camps and then generations have married welsh and returned to wales. Most of the houses near me are all closed up and the owners live in wales and return here for one month only.

Kym, you need to take heed of Davej's comments seriously, if your windows are double glazed, it is not warm/ cold air problems, your stoves are using up all the oxygen, there is insufficient air for them, they will eventually kill you if you are not careful, you MUST have airflow to the heaters, PLEASE follow Daves suggestion of leaving a window slightly open to allow air through, read up on Carbon Monoxide poisoning, please.....

Fully agree with George about the need to ensure that there is a proper air supply to the fire[s].

'leaving a window slightly open ' is a short term solution - long term you need to get suitable air bricks/vents fitted.

One other possibility - the problem of the glazing units 'popping out' may be made worse by your aluminium window frames. These will expand as the room heats up - causing a looser fit on the glazing units [so they pop out more easily]. Are you using standard glazing units [off the shelf] or made too measure ones? - if made to measure, try for a tighter fit, and put the units in when the frames are warm.
