....it helps using this NEW POSTS as there may be more than one new post per sub-forum & accessing the forum via the 'front page' will not always give you all the changes.......that's my thinking anyway.

I did suggest quite a while back that the Circolo could only be accessed by a second password or something along those lines. Two reasons for those that really don't want to get involved and also a means of protecting new members that haven't had the oportunity to get used to the forum and it's idiosyncrasies but as with many of my suggestions nothing happened.

I push the red button on the top of the page. Does the other way to do it make some difference?

This will bring you to the home page of the forum; the other way will only highlight the threads that have changed since your last visit.

Well, when you are writing a reply in "the Reply Window", there is a button at the bottom which says Go Advanced. That opens up the mesage you have already written in a diffrent window, and at the side of the window are a groupl of smiley faces. :) :) Just double click on one of them and it will come into the message. I like the yellow ones best, but you can choose!!

It's all a big secret ;)
Actually it's all quite simple; they are called smilies & are a bit like the ones used in Windows Messenger/mobiles etc.....
If none of that makes sense, then it's all explained here.
...........no blonde smilies though!
..............but that screws me as there are no grey & fat ones either :D

It seems that there are size requirements/constraints though......my sleeping lion had to be rescaled to get on the Venice/Oxford posting.
Hi David,
I usually enter it through the main site, i.e. checking the news first on the Italy pages, then move on to Forums. The new posts are all shown on the left of the threads so I just click where I choose to go. If I'm not interested, I won't go in & it'll appear as 'read' next time you log in (unless there are new posts of course) ...
Never tried the 'new posts' link... should do just to see what it's like!! :)
