3489 Terravision

If you're flying by Ryanair from Italy, and happen to be approached by someone from Terravision (usually standing near the Ryanair check-in desk) offering you to travel by coach from Stanstead airport to Liverpool Street for just EUR 19, watch out, it's a tourist trap!! I've just tried, and it's nothing like what they say!!:mad:

..for the warning...our son is a student and is going back to England tomorrow and we might have been tempted to sign him up for that !:mad:

So, what, why, how?

Though having looked at the Stansted Express rail link webiste, they have single tickets on sale for £15 & rtn from £25.....so on the suface, the Terravision seems like a good deal.

What are we missing?

As I understand it, the TV link goes:
STN Airport -> Bromley By Bow -> Liverpool St (then -> Finsbury Sq.) in 55 mins; the rail link takes 49 mins, so it's not much of a difference with timing.... the only difference is the price

Terravsion = £7 single & £12.50 rtn
Rail link = £15 single & £25 rtn
....maybe you still get the same Rynair experience on Terravision & it's worth payingthe bit extra? I travelled on the rail link some years ago when I was working the in City & found it a breeze (stopped more times than I'd have liked, but hey!)

Hi, just popping in today as have time - I have used Terravision to and from Victoria/Stansted and also from Rome/Ciampino and found no problems with their service.

Well then, I must have been the only unlucky guy!
Got the tickets at Pescara Airport. Arrived at Stanstead and started to queue for the bus. The whole plane was doing the same, so it was more than 100 people for just one bus.....
Was asked to wait for the next bus, meanwhile other people arrived and somehow managed to get into the queue right before me. At that stage I realized I would have to wait for more than 2 hours before getting onto a bus, so decided to take the Stanstead Express.

Tried the return journey (I had been told at Pescara that my seat had been reserved), but when I arrived found so many people there. Same scene as at arrival. The queue was so long, with people without reservation trying to get onto the bus and having to be sent back. I was almost missing my flight. So went back to the Stanstead Express.

But, again, it must have been my unlucky week!:)

Ryanair, then Terravision.......what a masochist!

Well, never had any problem with Ryanair (apart from the fact that they have reduced the space for each seat and you cannot stretch your legs properly now, but hey, it's only for a couple of hours:eek: ).
