8416 Note to self!!!!

NOTE TO SELF.

Next year, on the night before cooking xmas lunch for 12, under no circumstances do any of the following.....!!!!

a) go out with friends, drink way tooooo much.

b) remain in night club until 3am (I never cease to be amazed at how cross a female can get over a harmless little stunt such as this one???? Women!)

c) invite extra people, safe in the knowledge they're unlikely to turn up.

I now have a new string in my bow, Blessing and multiplying!

Ah, we (xpat colleagues and current significant others) celebrated xmas early this year.

But even worse - ever tried explaining the Christmas Cracker MOTTO's to an Italian?

An [U]hour[/U] last year trying to explain the motto that asked "Why don't mice have balls?" The answer (to us) was obvious "Because they can't dance!" so why didn't [B]they[/B] '[I]get it[/I]'? :sad:

I tried it with "why don't the animals play cards in the jungle? Because there are too many cheetas".....oh never mind!

oh, and you must wear this silly paper hat!!!

The concept of setting fire to the "dolce" before eating it also takes a bit of explaining!!!

Does anyone in Italy make their own Christmas Puddings and still put coins in them? (Remember threepenny bits! ):winki:

I should imagine that would take some explaining as well!
