General chat about Italy

Ricky you are off to a flying start today!!! "General Chat About Italy"??? Add "Italian" to the thread title!!! lol Per me "La Dolce Vita" e Panaforte.

I love to watch England win something at footie, so it's "Escape to Victory"!

....seriously, I need to watch "It's a wonderful life" and for some pure escapism, I seem to be rather stuck on Terry Gilliam's rework of Baron Munchausen; exquisite work!

....when i see this!!

Thats weird .I have just started to download it :eeeek:

I don't really have a favourite movie, but I still like to watch "The Snowman" when it comes on over Christmas.
I am still a big kid at heart!

Just watched Planes, Trains and Automobiles (again!) laughed so much nearly spilt my wine!

This will probably only appeal to Americans from the Midwest but for me it is "A Christmas Story". My wife and I watched it again last night as we do every Christmas season. Having grown up in northern Ohio this movie reminds us of when we were kids as the movie was filmed mainly in Cleveland.

As a Jimmy Stewart fan "It's a Wonderful Life" is always another one to watch.

My vote is for Bad Santa: Billy Bob Thornton playing Willie T. Stokes, a drunken, chain-smoking, foul-mouthed sexaholic safe-cracker who targets a different department store every holiday season, playing Santa while he cases the joint with his dwarf elf-partner (who's an even bigger womaniser).

The Coen brothers came up with the original idea and were producers, which will probably give you a better idea of what it's like.

I'm a huge fan of Christmas and all things yule. :nah:

My sister raved about this movie too,so we downloaded it, love the coen bros normally, but felt this missed , also not a great fan of Billy Bob, not in the same league as Oh Brother, Fargo or the Big Lebowski ....

Completely agree.

It's just that the shortlist of my favourite Christmas movies is very short. :winki:
