Hi there, to anyone living or visiting Scalea in Calabria!

A couple of years ago we stumbled on an old rustic building, crying out for a bit of TLC. Needless to say we couldn't resist the temptation and decided that we were the chosen ones for this major project. The gamble has paid off and we are now the humble owners of a beautiful house situated at Santa Maria Del Cedro, not far from Scalea in Calabria.

As my husband is Italian, (although he has lived in England for some 34 years now) the connections have been invaluable. He has gone to great lengths to forge friendships with the locals, these being mainly smallholders of adjoining farms etc. I cannot emphasise enough how kind and generous the locals have been towards us.

Our project manager Antonio, has delivered the goods, despite delays due to planning permission, and getting the workmen on site etc. It was well worth it in the end!!

We would love to hear from anyone in the Scalea area of Calabria, so that we can exchange experiences and enjoy a few glasses of the local vino at some time!
