BBC is right. 9 football teams are under investigation. It looks like (especially Juventus) has influenced the selection of referees for some matches. The situation isn't clear enough, but it looks rather bad.
The Italian Football Federation's president and deputy president already resigned (it looks like they were aware of this situation); today was Juventus' board turn to resign.
At least 4 State Attorney's offices are investigating facts (at Naples, Milan, Rome and Florence).
As many… many Italians I'm very tired of football scandals. It's time to tighten up sanctions.
Every year there is something new: illegal bets, violence at stadiums, fixed matches.... We can't stand that any longer.
Juventus (and the other teams) runs the risk of being demoted to Serie B (First Division). If the allegations will be confirmed in my opinion they deserve to be demoted to 3d Division and I hope they'll be fined accordingly (as much as possible).
It’s the icing on the cake just before the World Championship start in less than a month. Very good !
Last news report says AC Milan could be involved too (not confirmed)....more troubles for Mr. Berlusconi :) .
The wonder of the Italian law system!!!!.
The only problem is, if this was applied in england.............you might find
quite afew famous english teams in the docks.
Football is BIG business, and therefore you will start to find that they too
will apply big business practices.....
As yet no mention of bribes?
what i am sick and tired of, is the cheating on the field..

The Gazzetto dello Sport had a fair bit (!) on it today, although I was struggling a bit as sports newspapers have their own unique vocabulary. Itr does seem bad though, and certainly bears out what non-Juve fans have been saying for years.
My local newspaper had a small comment column which in many respects could have applied to the UK in terms of the money that is now in the sport. Certainly transfer dealings have been suspect for years, but never heard tales of bribed refs. (As a fan plenty of suggestions.., and of incompetence and visual impairment though!)
Must go risotto to stir!
What's this all about?!?! More corruption scandals?
I hear on the BBC that the offices of the Italian football federation & the referees' federation; seems its all part of an investigation into the referee scandal with Juve & how Juve tried to influence the choice of referees in 2005.
