12002 Airport Meet and Greet

I've just booked Aardvark meet and greet at Stansted for only £4 more than the long stay Car park. Not having the bus schlepp to the terminal will be definitely worth it! Found it through a comparison site. When I googled Aardvark itself they quoted £170 instead of the £36 I've booked it for. I'll definitely try it again, unless anyone can tell me that it's not as wonderful as it seems

So hang on.....you booked though a comparison site & got it for £130-odd less than the standard site.....name the comparison site, please!

The *does* sound like a good deal

I know - I find it hard to beleive too. And I can't remember the comparison site! I'll try and retrace my steps

Sounds to good to be true would be interested in any further info when you find it. Have you checked them out? One meet and greet company used to use my friends pub carpark
for storage!

Wasn't there a huge hoohaa not so long back whereby some of the 'meet and greet' companies were discovered dumping their client's cars in side streets and fields for the duration? I cannot recall all the details ... fluffy brain today.

Just Moxie

There was a recent British television programme where the journalists put a tracking device, and then a hidden camera in cars they left with an airport collection service. They showed flagrant speeding violations, leaving the cars at insecure locations, and even one driver poking through the glovebox. They made a big issue out of it, but at least their cars were brought back intact, and on time!

Yeh it was on Rogue Traders they parked the cars just on the street.

Never mind - it's my daughter's car ...... I'll let you know if we get it back intact!

ok - done a bit of research and it's Aardvark meet and greet service. Google Aardvark parking stansted and you should find it. Long stay car park = £32; meet and greet =£36. No brainer really. Or will I have to eat my words?????

We always used meet and greet at Stanstead, now I have to rember who they were. Robert would have missed his flight due to heavy traffic on the motorway but to just jump out of your car and hand it over is well worth it. Also on return trips when it had been pouring with rain there wasnt the miserble slog to the car park, staff always helpful, just a quick phone call 15mins before you arrive and the car was waiting. Will now try to find out the companies name.!

Try Hallmark Cars Hallmark Executive Travel Services .They used to work for BCP but BCP got too greedy and Hallmark went on their own. Always found their service superb, especially the time I arrived on the 15th June and had in error booked for 15th July. No questions asked, nothing extra to pay they just took the car. Also they are a small private company and I prefer to support them rather than the faceless big boys

We used this service last summer and were impressed with them. Not cheap but much less expensive than on-airport parking which is quite insecure at NICE CDA. This will probably be of most interest to people in Liguria and surrounding fringes.

It always amazes me that people so readily hand their car keys over to just about anyone in the name of cheap parking and then go on their hols!
I have done it once and was paranoid for the whole trip I would never see my car again...

Just to report back - absolutely no problems with the meet and greet. Complete luxury - we drove to the Terminal, were met, left the car and were through security and having a fried breakfast within 10 minutes of arriving.
Coming back, Ancona airport took fright at a bit of fog (which is their wont) and the incoming plane was diverted to Perugia. Usual Ryanair "so-whattism" ensued, so I grabbed back our hire car and headed to Rome for the 10 o'clock flight. On arrival discovered that Ryanair's policy is to charge the earth for a flight booked the same day. It was going to cost £700 to get 2 of us home!!! So we stayed overnight at the Park Hotel. It's about 2 km further out from Ciampino - opposite the Mercedes Benz dealership. E75 for a double room and if you ask at the desk they'll direct you to "Quanto Basta" restaurant a short walk away.
We rang Aardvark (the meet and greet people) to explain we wouldn't be in until the next day. That wasn't a problem and they duly turned up to meet us off our 6.35am flight.
For £36 versus £32 long stay car park, it was a really good deal - which is more than can be said for Ryanair!

Anne,
I love it...that is a great tip then, I will keep it in my diary for when i need to do the same.
Glad it all worked out...one of the best tips I have seen for a while.

Well, based on this, I've booked our May Bank holiday parking with Aardvark.....will report back too (and beat up Anne if it's rubbish, hehehe)
