You can stop, but only for the time of a kiss.
Just outside the Padua railway station, a new sign on the asphalt reads “Park + Kiss” to warn drivers that the parking space has a strict time limit: 15 minutes or the time to say goodbye, load or unload your luggage, and share the last kiss before parting ways.
Staying longer will incur a fine. The goal is to free the area from gridlock, avoid double parking or having to pay for a parking spot. The new traffic initiative is modeled on that of Northern European countries.
