Ovada is a town in the Province of Alessandria in the northern Italian region Piedmont. It is the main comune of the Ovadese area, an area of the Lower Piedmont and Upper Montferrat, located in the southern portion of the province of Alessandria. The city lies on the confluence of the Stura of Ovada torrent into the Orba river, at an altitude of 186 meters above sea level. The historic center is a maze of squares, painted houses and narrow streets connected to the city gates, the church square, and municipal institutions. The center is home to craft, commercial, typical flea, and antique markets.
