Capracotta (Molise)

Capracotta is a town in the Province of Isernia, in the Italian region Molise. The Giardino di Flora Appenninica is a botanical garden of alpine flowers located at 1,550 meters altitude at the base of Monte Campo. It is open daily in the warmer months. The garden was established in 1963 for plant trials, abandoned for almost two decades, and reopened in 1997 as a collaboration between the municipality of Capracotta and the University of Molise. Although the garden contains some flower beds, it is primarily a natural area.

Hi all,

I am asking a question that has been asked, no doubt, many times. I plan on getting the ferry to Cherbourg from Ireland in June and travelling to Molise. I will have 2 children and a dog for company. Any advice on routes, stop overs, etc. would be gratefully appreciated.
