3904 Solicitor neede for purchasing Italian property

Hello,

Can any one please help and provide the name or contact details of a UK based solicitor that does conveyancy work for the purchase of property in Italy. All the ones I have contacted see to charge large corporate fees such as £180 an hour!!! or 1% of the purchase price.

I would appreciate any help that any one can provide. Thanks

Try Giambrone & Law; they are well worth a chat with :D

Am using Giambrone & Law myself at the moment and am very very happy with the service thus far.

...dan, I'd try using the search function on this site too (top right in the green bar) as you'll find more than one recommeedation for GL ;)

We also used GL and were very happy but expect to pay at least 1% of the purchase price. There can be much more to it than the sort of conveyancing you would get in the UK e.g. pre-emption rights. But, to be honest, 1% is well worth the money. If you're buying through an agent and paying 3% or more to them, believe me 1% to a good solicitor is a snip.

Hi,
Where is the property?
I could help you.
All the best,
Massimo

we completed our purchase in may and have also used giambrone law to deal with all the legal aspects, they also took care of all the administrative issues and helped us with the payment of the ICI after we completed the purchase (i guess the previous owner refused to pay it for this year... )

they has also drew up new Italian wills for us and would definitely recommend this firm for those who are new to buying a house in italy. maybe not the cheapest law firm around, but, as always in life, you get what you pay for....and as brendan suggests, as long as you have a GOOD solicitor, then it's worth paying a little bit extra.

good luck with your purchase :D
