8513 Week 2 of water crisis

Southern Ascoli Piceno Province is starting week 2 of what the papers like to call "una crisi". The main water line supplying this portion of Marche broke last Friday and we have water available for short periods each day, the time of day and how long keeps changing. The current speculation for normal water service is not for another 2 weeks.

The bars and restaurants of course are not happy and most bars are serving in plastic cups. (excpet Guido's across from the Tribunale):veryconfused:

Thanks Bruno. Good (or bad) to know, since I'm arriving on Tuesday

No problems here Anne, and we aren't that far from you, so would think you will be ok.

Here in Montalto water is being turned off every evening (yesterday from 9pm) until morning...neighbours say Ascoli city is provided for, but little towns are suffering! :veryconfused:

Here in the centro of Acoli Piceno we have water for up to 5 hours per day, the schedule changes every few days. Some of the neighborhoods, such as Monticelli, are without water and only getting service by trucks. From what I have seen in the papers they are limiting waters to some areas to provide limited water for the 100,000+ who live in the Tronto Valley.

I am sorry to hear of your problems, we are fine here close to Montegiorgio. But if Annec wants a shower she is welcome to come around (and bring a copy of that book she grabbed first!).

Thanks A&R. I will have my teenage daughter with me so 3 showers a day are mandatory!

And I am bringing Harry Clifton with me - it's a v small book so should pass the Ryanair baggage allowance test
