8543 Impulse buy! And loving it!!

Having bought a house after 5 days in Abruzzo on a first time visit to Italy! I am SO pleased to have found this website! I am like a big kid with a new toy!
I'm not an impulsive person generally, but hey, you can only regret missed opportunities for so long!:smile:
I am now learning Italian (or trying anyway)... and plan to drive out in a couple of months or so and really looking forward to spending as much time as work allows out there. What a beautiful country & such wonderfully friendly people... I look forward to learning from you all

Just down the road in Serramonacesca!! Such a fantastic place.. I can't wait to get back out there.. It is so nice to find a place that is not commercialised. There is so much to look forward to seeing. Have you driven it at all? I have added a comment to the drive to Italy thread if you have any comments on it? I only bought in November so it is all very new to me at the moment! Nice to hear from someone so close!

Will your house just be for holidays or do you have longer term plans?

Thank you for the link, I will definately be browsing that one too!
At the moment it is for holidays, but longer term hopefully a bit later. The house needs updating at the moment but it shouldn't take too long so hopefully we will be spending a lot of time out there soon!

Congratulations! You were very lucky to find the right house on your first trip. Perhaps it was meant that way... I always think that the houses we cherish look for us and not the other way around.... Call it magic or fate.

Congratulations on your choice, I fell in love with the area & did the same as you, the house I bought is not far from Bisenti but higher up towards the Gran-sasso (betweeen Bisenti & Arsita) the scenery is breath taking!

I can't believe how much success I've had with this forum! I still can't believe I bought there so in such a rash decision, but certainly no, I don't think I will regret it! Some things are just meant to be - yep FATE! I quite agree the scenery is breath taking!
Thank you all for your comments and by the sounds of it, with so many of you so close, no doubt we will bump into each other somewhere along the line!

Hi we are just down the road in Manoppello actually going out next Monday!hooray.Not brave enough to stay in our place this time of the year so luckily friends have let us 'use' their place for 2 weeks.

We've been slowly working on our place for 2 years now (seems more) and have got to know the 'good,bad and ugly' aroundabouts so pm me or my website has info too.
