We moved permanently to Italy about 8 months prior to my wifes 60th and tried to apply for this when she reached 60. As we had not received it to start with in the UK then we were not entitled. If we had received 1 payment then it would have been no problem and you can get it every year.

So this is all down to your effective heating system, have been trying to follow it on another thread, but a bit boggeling for a none tech like me, I dream of 20c!

Angie, suggest you give up the naked gardening if the DWP won't give you the winter fuel allowance - your wellies & sweater combo will never keep you warm through the winter no matter how many vests you add :-)
