Yes there is a fast train,..with the intercity it takes about 40 minutes, if you take a Regionale it takes between 1.18 hours and 1.29 hours. You should check the time table.

Apart from the intercities, some of the Eurostar (? not quite sure of the name, pendolini?) very very fast trains stop at both Arezzo and Florence. But, 40mins sounds fast enough for me - what is your (rather un Italian) rush?

Well when I put a random time in this was the fastest train that came up, when I put another time in today, an ICplus came up. That takes around half an hour. No Eurostar. Try the time table. The faster the train, more expensive the trainticket is.

I always recommend the German Railways Train Planner for details of train times anywhere in Europe.

Hi Headyheady

We live in Arezzo so regularly use this route. BUT be warned there is a wide variation in train journey times depending on type of train and the price does depend on type of train used.

There are two railway lines to Florence from Arezzo, the fast Euro/intercity route which can take as little a 38 mins with no stops or the slower regionale route which can take anything between 1 hour and 1 hour 30+ mins. (depends if there are stops on this slow line).

Enjoy Arezzo, we think its a real gem.
you can get links to arezzo tourism/trains etc. from our website

Pendolino is the old name of Eurostar...or better to say the old Eurostar. Code named ETR 450 it has been replaced by ETR 500 (the current Eurostar). The UK train "Alstom Class 390" is also a descendant of Pendolino. The name Pendolino means "little pendulum". "Pendolo" means pendulum and the suffix "-ino" is a diminutive. The name comes from its peculiarity to tilt on bends giving it the capability to take bends at higher speed.....maybe this explanation is a bit boring....
