8609 Girasole

Hi all - does anyone have any experience of planting these? We need a screen this season, pronto, whilst our trees pad out.
They seem to be a fairly easy crop to grow, I'm guessing that they don't need much tending or watering?

We are planning a screen about a metre or two wide - even dead the stems will screen I think.

So - what time of year to they usually get planted, how deep, is there a local supplier of seed, and do they need watering (we have a 'leaky pipe' in place already) - if so how often?

Many thanks in advance

Last year i got some giant sunflower seeds from jungleseeds.com and they were fab about one and a half metres high, I planted late spring and they are at their best June/July but water them in the evening on sunny days as they are thirsty!
