8972 Ciampino "almost" a pleasure!

Ciao e tutti,

I have to say Ciampino Airport was almost a pleasure yesterday.
I arrived from Ciampino F.S. station, via shuttle bus, as about 9.30 a.m.
Having checked in on-line, I went straight to security & breezed through in about 5 minutes. (My on-line check & go print-out was not scanned, just looked at). I then had time for a cafè and a piadino before sauntering to my gate where Ryanair now have the "priority Q" laid out & signposted. This gets you on the first airport-bus to the plane. The only slight kerfuffle was caused by ejecting inelligble passengers from the "priority Q" before boarding the airport-bus.
I was first up the rear stairs and snoozing before we pushed back for take off to Luton. The flight was half an hour late but zzzzzzzzz.
It might be of interest to others to note that the "free shuttle" from Luton Airport to Luton Parkway will now cost £1, or £1.50 without valid train ticket. There was, however no evidence of fare collection at either end :nah:.

What's "piadino"??? Yes Ciampino is a hassle free airport and has quite a good "Duty Free" shop. They are now even more advanced than Stansted, (surely not!!!) where selected people are asked to take of shoes to be screened. At Ciampino you merely stand on a wee platform!!!

However what I do find a pain is the limited seating pre security. More than often there's plenty of room in the restaurant, but unless you are having a meal, you are not allowed to be there. Instead you have to eat your panini at the bar.

£1/£1.50 nice new bendy buses!!

Ciao

Yes Ciampino now almost a pleasure to use. I remember the good old days when we caught a bus at the end of the road in to Rome after exiting a collection of sheds ah! those were the days!

Used Ciampino last year for the first time and was pleasantly surprised, except for the long walk to pick up the hire car.
Though I think that this has now been revised.
Is it better or worse?
