Nothing new there for me. I have it down to a fine art. Well that's what security tell me!!!

I take a wee basket with me with three tops, a couple of skirts, a pair of shoes, mobile with charging lead, camera with charging lead and cradle, packet of M and S decaffeinated tea bags, couple of cds, transparent bag containing 50ml bottle of perfume, lipstick, small amount of makeup, and a very small handbag that can sit inside the basket.

I never, well hardly ever take hold luggage, and if I have done, it's only been household items.

Might as well take advantage of this thread to say that the last time I passed through security at Stansted , it was ultra fast. They have increased the security area and scanners.

Good reminder but mush of this is incompatible with the "wear all your heavy stuff - boots, jacket & coat etc) approach I need to travel with hand luggage only or to keep my hold luggage within Ryanair's miserable 15kg)! I am always amazed though that people don't seem to realise they have to take stuff off (but like all those dozy people at supermarket checkouts who don't get there purse out until they have packed everything up & the checkout operator has asked them twice :winki:)

People, me included in the past, tend to take more than they need.

And they do not check their pockets for keys and coins, take off their watch.....then they set off the alarm and have do it all again and of course you cannot come through until they have

I'd also like a guide as to how you get through quickly whilst holding onto an 18 month old, at the same time as you're trying to fold down a buggy and take it to a different x-ray machine, take your coat off, sort out liquids from other stuff, show security passes and put my bag through the x-ray. (oh and I'd just like to say a big thank you to the lady at Pisa Airport who obviously decided I was too slow last time and with a big tut literally pushed past me) ;)
