10593 Wild Foods Around The Sibillini Mountains.

Hello There,
I have been sent a message by someone who thinks that others living in Le Marche might want to read my blog spot.
I have only just started it and its really about all the local wild foods that can either be hunted or found naturally growing wild in the Le Marche area. I end each article with a local receipe which might be of use if you fancy cooking a traditional Le Marche dish.

Hi cacciatore,
Read your Blog. Interesting. What about Porcini, is it time yet to be looking for them? What about the wild greens. I see lots of old biddies picking. Could you put up some photo's of these, so we could identify them. I have eaten ravioli made with the wild greens and found them to be a more bitter taste and found this more pleasing than spinach.
Thanks a Bunch

Hello Bunch,
Not a problem, I was in fact next week going to write a little article about the wild veg in the area.
Also "yes" porcini are available at this time of year, but it depends on the rain. I will be covering them in November when my friend "Alfo" and me go to hunting for them. I have a good local recipe for them in Ravioli. You will just have to wait for that one.
Don't forget nows the time to be collecting wild nuts and the last of the seasons fruit.
Regards,
