12036 Childrens dental treatment

Hi,
Can someone help me to understand what dental care children are entitled to under the national health care system in Umbria/Italy.
Our daughter (6 year old) needs some work on her teeth, the adult teeth are not pushing out the baby teeth and coming up behind. Would the work be covered under the national system or is it better to go private?
Any advice appreciated:smile:

Dunno (about free dental treatment for children), but I know a man who does! You will get a totally honest opinon from an English dentist in Castiglione del Lago - his name is Roger Dalton, and his surgery number is 075 951021. I promise, if you ask him what is available free, he won't try to persuade you to go private.

Hi
If you are anywhere near Roger Dalton, OH and I would recommend him.

Roger is an excellent dentist and even if you do go private and pay you will find his charges very reasonable. His assistant is Italian and she often answers the phone so it may be wise to prepare first. Most dentists in Italy are private but you can claim dental costs against your personal tax in Italy. If you wish to you can go to your local USL for advice as they often have dental surgeries there but you may still have to pay a small amount and I cany guarantee the standard of treatment

I understand the situation. I would suggest you to see an experienced dentist like Roger who could definitely help you regarding this. The charges would be reasonable even if you go private.

Hi there this also happened with my 6 year..it looks weird ..they grew behind the bottom teeth but then once they were so big they just fell out without gaps!!!

at first they were very uneven but have moved and aligned themselves without any dental care..the top ones are falling out normally .

but as far as dental care is concerned I was investigating and everybody says it is alot of money unless you go to the doctor and get a prescription and visit the dentist at the childrens hospital which was my plan, but luckily she solved it herself
