3397 Private medical insurance in Italy

Can anyone let me know of any experience they have on private medical insurance and what it might cost for an old geezer like me.

We insure through Bupa in the UK, good but pricey. Claims are dealt with pretty fast. We have friends who use the Exeter and rate them highly too. Not sure if it's still the case but with the Exeter it used to be that the age you enrolled at stayed with you forever, so if you joined at 55, you'd be permanently in that price bracket, which is an advantage. It's not easy to give details of premiums for there are so many different options depending upon not just your age but also level of coverage, excess, etc. But look on the websites for more info and quotations are always free of charge. Might also be worth checking which hospitals the various companies have a pay direct arrangement with to see if there's one near you. (They're generally only in large cities.) Good luck. V
